We believe that a strong foundation in Early Childhood Education is essential to form faith-filled servant leaders, responsible lifelong learners, and respectful and compassionate community members.
St. Therese Catholic Academy Early Childhood Program is guided by the core values of faith, respect, responsibility, perseverance, and compassion. At STCA, we are guided by a deep belief that all students should experience “Love for Learning”. Early childhood learning should be fun and while simultaneously ignite the faith, minds, and dreams of our youngest of learners. Learning comes naturally at these early stages in life, and we believe that education should be filled with joyous and loving experiences where each day children feel welcomed, accepted, appreciated and loved in a safe and structured school environment.
Our Preschool Program serves 20-24 children from 3 to 5 years old with a Lead Teacher and supported by 2 co- teachers. Our curriculum covers prerequisites for Kindergarten Common Core in Math and ELA (Literacy and Language Arts) as well as Religion, Science, and Social Studies. Our scholars also receive a healthy dose of music, art, physical activity, and other enrichment exposure. Our classroom environment is filled with resources and tools to meet the needs and interests of our students as well as our school’s Student Learning Expectations. Together, they build a close, loving, and trustworthy community in the classroom that creates friendships that last a lifetime.
We run a 10 month program in conjunction with STCA school days, from September to June, in addition to a seven week optional summer program for pre-school students and rising kindergarteners.
Our standard school day is from 8:25am-12:25pm (half day program), but we also offer a full day option with lunch, rest, and recreation that goes to 3:30pm along with the rest of the school. Extended care is available through 6pm.
An example of a day in the life of a preschooler at STCA today can be found here, and details on curriculum can be found here.
*Extended Care available 7am-6pm in Preschool-8th Grade setting.
