NWEA MAP TEST DATA (SPRING 2018)

In 2018 we showed strong growth in Math scores, as well as growth in Language Usage. Overall, our Reading scores dropped as a school, but that is largely due to enrollment growth and the challenge of moving up from the very high benchmark from where we started. Below, the measure we focus on for reporting is the percent of our students at/above grade level based on their NWEA MAP test scores for Kindergarten-8th Grade students.

READING

  • 6% decrease (-) from Spring 2017 to Spring 2018

  • Spring 2017: 82% (102/124) reached end of year benchmark to be at/above grade level

  • Spring 2018: 76% (103/136)

MATH

  • 5% increase (+) from Spring 2017 to Spring 2018

  • Spring 2017: 57% (71/124) reached end of year benchmark to be at/above grade level

  • Spring 2018: 62% (84/136)

LANGUAGE USAGE

  • 5% increase (+) from Spring 2017 to Spring 2018 (2nd -8 th Grade ONLY)

  • Spring 2017: 69% (63/91) reached end of year benchmark to be at/above grade level

  • Spring 2018: 74% (78/106)

These numbers indicate that our academic program is trending in the right direction. Our doors are open to learners of all abilities and levels, and we are helping children and families accomplish their learning (and nonacademic) goals at very successful rates! Our other takeaways from this year’s data is that we may drop our winter testing term to try to combat the reality of testing fatigue. More details to come on that in the fall after further analysis and consultation with other schools and the Archdiocese take place!
